Relay For Life + 2000 MILES!

We had a fantastic weekend in July at the Relay for Life in Nottingham - it was a great yet emotional 24 hours but I'm sure we'd do it again in a heartbeat and we're already planning for next years.

We want to thank everyone who came to visit across the 2 days and help rack up the laps which add up to miles - all in all we did 170 miles which is a huge chunk to add and brings us over the 2000 mile mark - EXCITING TIMES!

Now life is getting back to normal after a busy couple of months, I'm sure we'll be in the gym more and out running/cycling so keep following our journey and be sure to add your miles to our total!

Please also keep your donations coming in - we've had over £100 in just a few weeks and we'd love to hit the £1000 milestone - Text LCSJ94 £5/10/20 to 70070 to support us x

Hi everyone, it's been a while since we've done any sort of update but it's been super crazy as we've both been on holiday and we've also had a couple of events around new jobs and extra hours!

But thought I'd finally get round to adding up the miles I did while I was on holiday - we did quite a lot of walking each day so I'm well chuffed we did 141 miles between me and Nick across 2 weeks :)

Will save this for now and do a quick update on the Relay for Life next to get the latest total! x

HALF WAY MARK! 1500 miles!!!

Mile update with a load of donations

As the half way mark of the challenge is fast approaching I am updating you all with a mile update and also a load of donations made by people who having offered support (and miles) to the challenge. Its amazing how many people have helped us a long the way with the Wollaton Park walk we did, to Sarah and her family doing the Awsworth Run a couple of weeks ago and to each and every mile donation whether it be walking to walk or gym sessions, they all add up!

43.6 kilometres done - 27.1 miles

*While having a few problems with my Strava app not recording all my rides, there a few which aren't calculated in the overall update as of yet.

Donations:

Donated miles throughout the challenge have been amazing, from colleagues from my work, Emma Wright my old team leader to Jade Castillo an avid gym goer! Lee Martin another mile clocker who has been nothing but supportive throughout this challenge!

My step sisters Emma and Michelle will always be updating me with miles when it comes to walking as well as my Aunty Amanda who week in week out will walk to and from walk or even go on a quick pace during the evening.

Further more Charlotte Cooper a close family member has been getting her cycle on while doing spin classes (which we know are very tough going)

All donations of miles make a massive difference!

Me and Sarah set out this challenge to cover 3000s but never expected the support we've had over the last 6 months so we ask, don't let it stop. We certainly wont be!

So after all we reach a new milestone in the challenge!

WE'VE HIT THE 1500 MILE MARK!

WITH THESE MILES (106 MILES) added to the 1414.59 we are now at 1520.59 miles!

The Jack's do the Awsworth 5k Run!

Today me, my Dad, Step Mum Emma and little brother and sister, Jess & Henry took on the Awsworth 5km Run in Nottingham.

It was a great run and Jess was so excited there was no stopping her so I ran ahead with her while Dad and Henry were behind.

Emma completed in about half hour, me and Jess in about 40 minutes and Dad and Henry about an hour.

Here's a few of the photos :)

Mile Meet Up Total & Next Event Update!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to our Mile Meet up in Nottingham last week.

We did a huge 32 miles which is more than a marathon between us all!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

NEXT EVENT:

We already have our next event planned and we're really excited to tell you that we'll be taking Team Bones to the Nottingham Relay for Life! To rack up as many miles as possible and to bring Team Bones and our supporters together, we're taking on the 24 hour, over night, relay for life!
We'll be at Harvey Hadden Stadium on Saturday 18th July - the relay starts at 1pm and will finish at 1pm the next day. We can have as many people as we like (and as possible!) on our team as long as someone is on the track at all times over the 24 hours.
You can either join our team for the whole 24 hours and sign up as an official member of Team Bones for the weekend which is £15 (towards Cancer Research UK), or you can just drop by at any time before 10pm on the Saturday or after 8am on the Sunday to do a few laps.

We'd love to have as many people there as possible to make the over night sleeping a bit more fun and a bit more bearable so please do message Sarah or Luke to sign up for the full weekend.
Get your trainers, tents and sleeping bags ready!

Grand Total: 1072.34!
